Why Default Settings Hold You Back

Default torrent client settings are conservative. Tweaking a few settings can unlock significantly faster speeds.

1. Increase Connection Limits

Set global connections to 500-1000 and per-torrent to 50-100.

2. Enable Protocol Encryption

Makes it harder for ISPs to detect and throttle torrent traffic.

3. Optimize Upload Speed

Set upload to 70-80% of your actual upload bandwidth.

4. Set Proper Disk Cache

Enable disk cache at 512 MB or higher to reduce disk wear.

5. Configure Port Forwarding

Forward port 51413 in your router. Can improve speeds by 20-50%.

6. Disable DHT/PEX/LSD for Private Trackers

Most private trackers require these to be disabled.

7. Set Seeding Limits

Stop seeding at ratio 2.0 or after 72 hours.

8. Enable RSS Auto-Download

Automatically grab new content from trusted sources.

9. Bind to VPN Interface

Prevents leaks if VPN disconnects.

10. Update Regularly

Outdated clients have slower speeds and security risks.
